Ahhh it's Spring! The warm air refreshes. Thoughts of cold, white winter recede. Colors are varied & incandescent. Hearts rejoice at Earth's reawakening. And we're rejoicing as well. Our celebrated Spring Show artists trap brilliant elements of the season into their works.

Charlton Glassworks

Glow- Designing glass for more than 20 years at Washington State's Charlton Glassworks, John Moilanen & his mother Sandie Charlton revive the ancient art of combining glass & metal. Individually hand-cut metals are fused between layers of glass to form functional pieces of art decorated with fiery images.

On display: oil lamps, ikebanas, vases, plates, bowls & platters.

Copper Elements

Shimmer- It's hard to outshine Mother Nature, but we think Dan & Frances Hedblom of Copper Elements do it. In their remarkable wall hangings, they use a faming torch to bring out glorious blues, purples, greens & golds in copper - painting shimmering landscapes. Added custom grinding techniques & multi-curved shapes cause the copper to move & change when placed under lights or sun.

Grant-Norén

Reflect- Reflect on this. Can artists expand & excite elements of nature? New York craftsmen Ingela Norén & Daniel Grant of Grant-Norén do. Using Scandinavian faux finish techniques, they contemporize wooden mirrors. First stain or paint, next manipulate glaze to imitate graining, veining & stippling, then layer rich lacquers to a shiny "piano" finish. Your reflection will smile in these marvelous works of art!
