Bluegill Pottery Bluebird Tumbler/Vase

Wavy edges matching the wavy base gives this tumbler/vase a charming profile. Two bluebirds with branches and berries decorate the front of the piece on an Old Gold glaze background. Food safe and dishwasher safe, this piece is individually made and altered on the potter's wheel of white stoneware. The brightly colored birds and berries are first stamped into the moist clay so each piece, while similar has it's own unique elements. Brilliant underglazes are used to give a pop of color. All the work is individually handmade, so each piece will be unique. Glazes are food safe and microwave and dishwasher safe.

Establishing Bluegill Pottery in 1997, Vicki Liles Gill continues to work in a fine white stoneware clay. This clay allows her texture techniques and translucent glazes to be highlighted. Firing takes place in an oxidation atmosphere which empowers both subtle and brilliant colors to work as a whole in the composition. Handcrafted in North Carolina.
