Tile Box with Crescent Moon Lid

You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Moon collection Don designed. Box lids in this collection have the design of a waxing crescent moon. For the profile of this piece, its face has a nose with character, soulful gaze, and a gentle smile. One large star at its tip and many small stars can be found in the background.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of wavy, rippled designs. On its first exterior side, there are nine circular shapes evenly distributed. Each has interior circles and a band of parallel lines. For the second side, there are horizontal striations that are reminiscent of looking at certain types of sedimentary rocks under a microscope. On the next side, the design is of curvy, thin lines that seem to flow on top of the metal. For the final side, you’ll see a bird with outstretched wings that touch near the bird’s head and form a general circle shape.
